Society for Early Modern French Studies Translation Prize
The Society offers an annual translation prize, which is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students in French and Francophone Departments in the UK and Ireland. Students are asked to translate a prescribed passage into English and to provide between 4-6 annotations explaining specific translation choices made in their work.The winner will receive a cash prize of £300 and the winning entry will be posted on the website of the Society for Early Modern French Studies.

Entries should be sent as an email attachment to Dr Emma Claussen ([email protected]) with the subject line ‘SEMFS Translation prize’
The winner will receive a cash prize of £300 and the winning entry will be posted on the website of the Society for Early Modern French Studies. Up to two runners-up prizes of £50 may also be made on the recommendation of the judging panel.
